SOL/CRM Overview

An internal client relationship management portal for organisations whose client data is fragmented across departments, workbooks, and individual machines — and whose staff will not adopt a system that does not feel like it was built for their department.

Rather than forcing every unit into one generic interface, the portal presents each department with its own branded entry point and its own scoped view of the client base, while the underlying data and audit trail remain unified.

What it does.

Departmental architecture

A central landing page routing staff to their department's portal Independent, department-specific login pages — deployed across eight departments in the reference build Role-based access control determining what each user can see, add, edit, or remove Scoped data views so a department sees its own relationships without wading through the whole organisation's book

Client data management

Structured client records covering organisation, contact person, designation, address, email address, and phone number Searchable, filterable client tables built for volume Full add, edit, and delete functionality with permission gating Handling for structural irregularities in inherited data — real workbooks are rarely uniform, and the import layer accounts for that rather than failing on it

Audit trail

Every material change to a client record is logged with actor and timestamp. For organisations where client relationships are commercially sensitive, this is the difference between a shared spreadsheet and a system of record.

Enterprise data integration

The portal's data layer connects directly to workbooks hosted in Microsoft SharePoint through the Microsoft Graph API, reading and writing to the organisation's existing files.

SOL/TEC Detail

Why it works

Departmental adoption is the hardest part of any internal CRM rollout. This architecture removes the two usual objections — "it doesn't work the way my department works" and "I don't want our data moved somewhere else" — before they are raised.

Technical profile
Frontend HTML5 with a defined corporate design system, responsive across desktop and mobile
Backend Node.js and Express
Data layer Microsoft Graph API against SharePoint-hosted workbooks
Security posture credentials and authorisation handled server-side; the build deliberately moved away from client-side credential storage, which we flag and eliminate wherever we encounter it in inherited systems
Branding fully themed to the organisation's corporate identity, including departmental attribution in the interface
